IMPORTANT POINTS ON LAMELLA MOSAIC PARQUET APPLICATIONS

1) The alum beton of parquet must be 400 doses (1 m3 sand, 8 bags of cement ) and absolutely its surface must be glazed well by steel trowel.

2) As Abant Lamella Mosaic Parquets are so dry the inlaying is made 2 months after in summer following the parquet alum is poured and 3 months after in winter provided the heater works.

3) The temperature of the room is required not to be below +10 centigrade when the inlaying is being made.

4) Before starting inlaying the parquets it is required to scrape all craps such as lime, paint, mortar on the parquet alum which should be dry well. Furthermore, humid shavings are spread on the ground and then it is swept by these shavings. This provides the ground to be quite clean.

5) No kind of dope additive or water can be added to special glue and it cannot be made watery.

6) The special glue should be kept in a place with a temperature below +10 centigrade.

7) After mixing the special glue well it is poured on the cleaned ground. Then the glue is drawn with a special cockle having 4,5 mm screw depth and it is spread on the ground smoothly in the form of 60-70 cm slings by making undulation.

8) Since the glue on the lade of this cockle concretes gradually, it is required to clean the space between its screws frequently.

9) Since the special glue dries quickly, it is required to start inlaying immediately after spreading it on the ground.

10) The inlaying is made by sticking the hollow surface of perforated paper on the ground.

11) The joints and triangles should be kept into consideration after starting the inlaying. Within 1-2 minutes the parquet plaques should be laid very close to each other without leaving any space between them.

12) By using a hammer the parquet plaques are hit on their upper sides in order to make them touch with the ground and the glue well.

13) While attaching the parquet plaques to each other, it is sometimes possible that very little glue can be squashed between two plaques and then appear on the surface. This glue should be cleaned with a humid cloth immediately.

14) While inlaying the solid parquets, at every 0,5 m2 (minimum) or 1 m2, a sponge is bathed and the inlaid ground is moistened with this sponge. Since the parquet is so dry (6-8%), this provides working space for the parquet and thus prevents the blisters. After all the inlaying work is completed, a thin layer of dry shavings are spread on the parquets. These shavings help the parquets to be stuck well by absorbing the humidity of glue.

15) While inlaying the parquets, 2 cm working space is left near the wall and a skirting board is penetrated.

16) When the inlaying is completed at least 10 days later the scraper varnish is made.

17) The powder of parquet scraper and fillet varnish are mixed and then used as an inspection adhesive cement.

18) After spreading inspection adhesive cement and scraper, the inlaying will be best by putting a layer of prime and three layers of varnish with 8-hour interval.

19) After applying the last varnish layer, do not walk on the parquets with dusty, dirty shoes at least one week even though the varnish gets dry. 20) The flats especially the ones nobody lives in should be air-conditioned by opening the windows in the morning and closing in the evening

21) It is impossible to inlay any kind of parquets on the marble, ceramic and vinyl floor covering. The inlaying can be made after 1,5 month following the disassembling of these materials (marble, ceramic etc.) then the repair of the alum and it dries well. The vinyl floor covering is also disassembled, the pitch on the alum is scraped and cleaned very well.
